The Reach Out after school book club recently read the book Wonder, so today they created a kindness board for our hallway. We appreciate these students sharing their love of reading and the importance of treating one another kindly.

FYI: On Friday, April 19 at around 1 p.m. Anadarko High School will be having a DUI simulation wreck on their campus. We are informing you of this because the police, ambulance, fire, and life flight crews will be on campus and using their sirens. We do not want anyone to be alarmed by this. It is just a safety demonstration.

Today we had our annual Carpool Karaoke adventure which has become a tradition on the day before state testing kicks off! The teachers and staff choose fun tunes and Mrs. Bauman chauffeurs them to Sonic for a treat. From Sweet Caroline to Material Girl to Don't Stop Believing, we sang and laughed and enjoyed a quick break on a busy day!

State testing begins this week, and our @SparkWheel partners have helped us provide some nutritional snacks to fuel our brain power! We appreciate their assistance! We also appreciate the families who have donated small bottles of water for the testing days ahead. Remember that Thursday morning we take part 1 of the reading test, with part 2 following on Friday morning. It is very important for students to be here and be on time! Thank you!

We had a great solar eclipse viewing party at Mission! Students enjoyed their snacks and the live science lesson! We are saving our glasses for 2044!😁

Join us this Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. for our April Mission U-Nite! State testing is coming up in a couple of weeks, and with that some students may feel anxious or worry about how they'll do. Families wonder how they can help their student prepare. Many don't understand the purpose of the tests. We will give you information including tips for helping your child cope with their feelings and explain why we do the testing and how it affects our schools. We hope you can make it!

Congratulations to our spring benchmark test MVPs! These students all gained 20+ points of growth in at least one content area. That is a super accomplishment!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Our spring benchmark test All-Stars! These students met or exceeded their target goals in all four areas! We are so proud of you!

Nutritional snacks and hydration help our students focus and think more clearly when testing. If you would like to donate the small (8 oz.) bottles of water for our upcoming state testing, we would certainly appreciate it! You can drop off your donation anytime between now and April 17. Thank you for your support!

State testing is just around the corner, so we are sharing our updated schedule. ALL students must test. As you can imagine, it is difficult to arrange make-up tests when students are absent, so it is very important that we have 100% attendance on the test dates. Students need to eat a good breakfast, either here at school beginning at 7:30 a.m., or at home. They also need to have a good night's rest prior to each test session. We will have a Mission U-Nite on April 10 to discuss ways to prepare your child and ease their anxiety about testing. We like to provide nutritious snacks for all students when they test, as well as keep them hydrated. To that end, we appreciate any donation of small (8 oz.) bottled water. You can drop the bottled water off at our office anytime between now and April 17. As always, we appreciate your support!

On Monday, April 8, Mission students will have the opportunity to view the solar eclipse. Although Anadarko is not in the path of totality, we will still see about a 95% eclipse of the sun. Permission forms are going home today, so please check with your student! They must have a signed permission form (due this Friday) in order to attend the viewing party on the playground. We will provide safety glasses, courtesy of the Anadarko Public Library, as well as a goody bag with eclipse-themed snacks. Thanks to all the families who donated Sun chips for our bags! Please discuss with your child the importance of following safety guidelines during the viewing, as looking at the sun without protection can cause serious eye injury. If you would prefer that your child not participate for cultural or other reasons, we will provide an alternate indoor activity. If you have any questions, please give our office a call!

THis week's lunch menu!

Next week we will send home permission forms for our students to view the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. Our local library is donating safety glasses for students and staff, and we plan to have special "eclipse" snacks as well. If you'd like to help with this, we are asking for individual bags of Sun Chips! Please bring your donation to our office by next Friday! Thank you.
